Daltron donates to Rotary Club of Boroko

Daltron has made a donation of 2 Laptops and 2 printers, to the Rotary Club of Boroko to assist in the fight against cervical cancer in PNG.

The donation was received by Mr Togaro Asiba, President of the Club and Mr Lionel Melville, the Treasurer.

Mr Melville said that the Club was raising funds towards making the vaccine for cervical cancer, free to all recipients. He said the Club aims to vaccinate 28, 000 girls in government schools in the NCD, between the ages of 9 – 13 years, at the beginning of the school year in 2017. This is a pilot project aimed at assessing it‘s success within in the NCD, with the objective to take it to other centres upon it’s successful completion.

Mr Melville said that this project has been made possible with the support of UNICEF and the Health Department.

President of the Rotary club of Boroko, Mr Togaro Asiba, said that the Club will be hosting a luncheon on the 1st of November and the donations from Daltron will be put on auction at the luncheon at the Stanley Hotel, to raise funds towards the cause.

Daltron Introduces Easier Payment Methods

When John, a father of four, needed to buy a laptop for his eldest child for school he was pleased to find opportunities at Daltron that made his purchase easier.

Pacific Games Baton Relay Launched

The Pacific Games Baton Relay has been launched. Preceding the actual games in July, the national relay aptly called “OilSearch Raunim PNG Relay” after the major sponsor Oil Search, was officially launched on March 25th 2015, by the Prime Minister of PNG, Peter O’Neill.

Teams of selected runners will participate in passing the Games baton around all 22 provinces of Papua New Guinea from June 29th till July 3rd.

As Gold Sponsor of the Games, Daltron management have chosen staff to participate in the relay from each of their offices and resellers around the country, who are eagerly and excitedly awaiting the week long event.

Those in attendance at the launching included Minister for Sports, Justin Tkatchenko, NCD Governor Powes Parkop, the Prime Minister, OilSearch employees and other invited guests.

Governor Parkop said that these games allowed for the opportunity to showcase PNG’s outstanding athletes.

Games tickets went on sale on March 26th, after the launching ceremony at BSP Haus, Harbour City.

Daltron Hosts HP Conference in Port Moresby

The annual HP conference went off without hitch this year in the Nation’s Capital. A five man team included specialists in the industry who spoke on topics of importance to the ICT community.

Server & Converged Systems Sales Specialist, Jakes Jacobs, introduced a fresh approach to infrastructure management emphasizing new storage technology, while Tony Pomeroy, HP Storage Specialist, discussed HP storage options for PNG.

Daltron’s own Presales Consultant, Nigel Hackney, explained HP Big Data Solutions touching on electronic content management solutions and backup and recovery.

Bill Ratcliff delivered an eye opening session themed “Restoring the Asymmetrical Advantage”, illustrating the danger of social media websites, wireless networks and the internet in general, where sensitive company information and even private information of the average person on their personal  computers can be stolen and used fraudulently. Ratcliff, Senior Partner of TLR Communications, showed measures to take to safeguard oneself and/or company from malicious software and hackers.

The one day event was held at the Laguna Hotel on the 4th of March 2014.


Daltron Makes Valentine’s Day Memorable

When Daltron celebrates a special occasion, they pull out all the stops! This Valentine’s period was no exception.

The Daltron retail team started the month with a special one month long promotion that consisted of two deals. Daltron shoppers had the option of purchasing a laptop at K999 and getting a bonus HP printer free of charge.

Deal two offered bargain hunters the opportunity to purchase their first laptop at K999 with the second at 30% off, at an enticing K699.

This month long Valentine’s promotion was punctuated with short 1 day events in between, one of which being the one day only Special Valentine’s Day Sale on February 14th. On this Day customers were able to purchase HP laptops at just K799.

Running for four weeks in the last leg of 2014, the 2015 Pacific Games Facebook Page Trivia Competition tested many of its Facebook fans with general Pacific Games knowledge.
